Judith Vann came to CSM from eMeals, the leading on-line meal planning service and key CSM partner. In collaboration with eMeals, Judy joined our staff to spearhead the development of healthy community ministry initiatives. She brings her experience in creative marketing strategies and non-profit management to CSM’s strategic position for impacting Birmingham. Judy feels that CSM stands as a beacon for breaking down barriers and unity in Christ, and is excited to help expand new ministry opportunities. Judy and her husband Mark are a part of Common Thread Community.
In September 2016, Kirsten joined Christian Service Mission as the Project Coordinator for the Housing Ministry. She came to us from New Tribes Mission where she and her husband Tim served for 8 years both in the US and in Papua New Guinea. Originally trained as an Architectural Drafter, she has been in and around the building industry for almost 20 years. Kirsten & Tim are members of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster.
Rhonda joined Christian Service Mission as the Food Ministry Coordinator in 2015. She has worked in the non-profit sector for over 20 years and was with AmSouth Bank for 10. She has extensive experience in Food Ministry and currently serves on several boards including one of our partners: Oak Mountain Mission. Rhonda is a native of Birmingham, a graduate of Jacksonville State University, and she is a member of Metropolitan Church of God in Hoover.
In 2012, Norman joined the Christian Service Mission to manage special projects and provide care for the people we work with in the communities. Norman leads the STAIR program at Oliver Elementary and is a group leader for Kids Across America Camp (KAA). Norman attends Bethel Baptist church.
Aaron began working at the Christian Service Mission in 2011 supervising our construction projects and construction volunteers. Aaron is the former owner of Tambridge Construction
and A&H Commercial Construction bringing decades of knowledge and skill to this position. Aaron received his B.S. in Marketing from Samford University and attends Hunter Street Baptist Church.
Tracy Hipps joined the Christian Service Mission as Executive Director in 2010. Tracy is a leader in community development and has spent more than 30 years "serving the least of these" in Chicago and Birmingham. Previously, Tracy was the Community Facilitator for Mission Birmingham and he has also served as a Youth Pastor for The Center for Urban Missions and The New City Church. Tracy is a graduate of Southeastern Bible College and holds a Master's degree in Art in Ministry from Grace Seminary. Tracy is a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church.
Willie joined Christian Service Mission in April of 2010. Willie manages the warehouse resources, keeps the place in working order, and is responsible for training and mentoring young men who are learning workplace skills. He is a member of Great Temple Church.
Bud has been on staff at Christian Service Mission since 1992. He manages the warehouse, planned and designed the aquaponics build, and maintains all the building maintenance. Bud is a member of Vestavia Church of Christ.
Randy began serving at Christian Service Mission in the spring of 2011. Prior to joining our team, he owned Sain & Associates, a civil engineering firm. Randy now uses his extensive experience from 30 years in the civil engineering business in Birmingham to manage construction projects and bring his expertise to every housing project. Randy focused on success and found significance in work throughout his professional career but he now encourages others to serve the Lord with their talents and not wait until retirement. Randy attends Church of the Highlands, Riverchase Campus.
In 2014, Michael joined the Christian Service Mission to lead all of our volunteers and ensure that they have a successful experience. He is also our lead gardener and planner. Prior to joining CSM, Michael was a youth intern with junior and senior-high students at Second Presbyterian in Memphis, TN. Michael is a 2012 graduate of
Auburn University with B.S. in Business Management.
Jamie Leo joined the Christian Service Mission in 2014. Working with Tracy Hipps, she manages administration and operations. A native of Florida and a graduate of Samford University, Jamie spent 13 years managing editorial production for Southern Living magazine and Coastal Living magazine. She is a member of Hunter Street Baptist church and serves on the board of Grace's Kitchen and African Children's Mission.
